we made this long trough to go on our kitchen table.at the beginning of the holiday season last year.We had painted it a really nice, unusual purpley grey color that actually looked really amazing with the pinecones and shiny Christmas ornaments that I had in there.

I put the trough box away in the basement after Christmas last year but I really love it, so I wanted to bring it out again this fall and try it with some pumpkins. The purpley color just wasn’t going to make sense for fall though, so I went ahead and painted it in a darker grey for this season..

These trough boxes are so versatile and so easy to make if you have the tools.

If you aren’t handy with woodworking, you can find them online pretty easily.boxwood wreaths.

are an example of something that I use over and over again for all seasons, along with the.on the kitchen counters.

last year’s Christmas home tour., you’ll see just how often I reuse all of these things.
